My favorite KU memory is...
Being announced as the Ex.C.E.L winner during homecoming week. It was such an honor to be a participant in the parade and stand on the football field to be recognized for each of my accomplishment during my undergraduate career. It really showed that all of my hard work didn’t go unnoticed and it was a pleasure to stand alongside such high achieving students who were also nominated.
What did I want to be when I grew up?
At a young age, I was very adventurous with what I wanted to be when I got older. At the same time, I was very indecisive and thought having a diverse resume with becoming a nurse, doctor, professional track athlete, and sport psychologist would make me a qualified candidate for anything else that came into my interest. I grew up with the philosophy that I could be anything I wanted and my family was just as encouraging. As I became more fluent in what I wanted and what my interests were, I was able to shape my aspirations and goals even more.
I became an advisor because...
I have a love for mentoring and helping students reach their goals. As an only child, I was able to manifest my own experiences, all along I would be learning from my mistakes as well. My academic experience was unique and I didn’t seem to realize how much of an impact or inspiration it seemed to create for others until I got involved with mentoring during my time at KU. I loved the experience and the ability to be an advocate for the students I was helping. Those opportunities were precious to me and created a sense of purpose in my life.
Advice to Students:
My greatest memories on campus was not just in the classroom but from the various opportunities that I got myself involved in while I was here. My time-frame here as a student went by so fast and the memories are just as clear and precious. So, my advice to students would be to make the most of every day because those memories, connections, and friends will last a lifetime.
My favorite quote:
Let the beauty of what you love be what you do
My favorite music:
