Brenton Miller

Undergraduate Major:
Psychology

I became an advisor because:
As a first-generation college student I relied heavily on academic advising and student support services to navigate my undergraduate career. I participated in TRiO Supportive Educational Services here at KU and was connected to a great deal of services and opportunities. My advisor was often my first point of contact whenever I had a question or was experiencing difficulty. I became an advisor because advising had such a huge impact on my life and career as a student and professional. Serving as an advisor gives me a unique opportunity to help guide students and connect them to a variety of resources that may prove beneficial for them.

My best advice for college students:
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. College can be challenging but there are a variety of resources available.

My soapbox:
Entitlement. Privilege.

My favorite KU memory is:
Walking onto the court in Allen Fieldhouse to perform the National Anthem as a member of the KU Mens Glee Club.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
When I was growing up I wanted to be a professional singer, then a pediatrician, then a pharmacist…

My favorite place on campus is … Overlooking campus from the top of the Oread

My super power would be: Telekinesis
